When completed in the summer of 2013, our 13-foot replica of the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk will be the largest model we've ever constructed. Like our smaller CV-63 model (see earlier videos), it will be able to launch R/C aircraft via a catapult system. Unlike that smaller model, it will also be able to recover those aircraft.
This is video part 2 of 2 detailing major construction of our 2013 Kitty Hawk replica. At the time of publication, primary fabrication is complete, and the ship is ready for sea trials, with air operations to follow later in the summer.
