Qualcomm has just announced its Snapdragon 850 processor at Computex 2018. No, this isn’t a replacement for its current Snapdragon 845 flagship. Instead, the 850 is designed specifically for a new generation of power-sipping Windows devices, which will get up to 25 hours of battery life. Despite impressive power efficiency, the Snapdragon 850 supports 64-bit Windows apps, and runs at 2.96GHz — about 30 percent faster than the Snapdragon 835, which has also been used in similar Windows-powered “Always Connected” devices like ASUS’ 2-in-1 NovaGo.
