This inexpensive FPV selfie camera drone actually includes follow me capability. A game changer toy drone. Let me rephrase that, a game changer for ALL camera drones that don't already have follow me capability! Find it here and find the Mi WiFi repeater/amplifier here
Pro's
- Good wide angled camera lens and sensor. Produces relatively nice video and pictures. Video and pictures are recorded directly to your phone (no SD card) via WiFi.
- Selfie mode, the quadcopters back becomes front and vice versa. Eases controlling the drone for setting up selfie photos and video shots.
- Optical flow position hold and barometer altitude hold. No need to worry about flying. Drone automatically hovers in place so that you can focus on taking pictures and video.
- Optical follow me capability that works reasonable well. Almost unbelievable that this feature is included in a drone at this price level.
- 720p HD video photos. Photo capability includes include continuous shooting capability (up to four quick sequence shots for those rapid events).
- Control features, along with FPV vide/photos viewing and recording are controlled via the JJRC Splendor app available on Google Play here and iTunes here .
- Uses most components and the same battery as the JJRC H61
- 3.7V 850mah battery gives approximately 7 minutes of flight time.
- Does not require FAA registration
Cons
- Usual WiFi video lag and frame dropping.
- WiFi range is short. However it also works with Mi WiFi repater/amplifier for improved performance.
- No gimbal or image stabilization. Wind will likely degrade performance.
- Follow doesn't work well when drone is low with a level camer angle. The computations need a downward looking angle to maintain distance from the target.
