When one of the 5A HK UBEC devices I purchased a while back turned out to be faulty, I decided to take a look inside and see if I could fix it instead of just throwing it in the trash or sending it back for a credit.
What I found surprised me - these things are actually two 3A UBECs in parallel.
The fault turned out to be a case of bad soldering -- something there is plenty of inside these UBECs.
Come with me on my journey of discovery and find out why these UBECs are actually brilliant value for money because you get two for the price of one. Just one of these 3A UBECs is enough to power four 9g servos for a small RC plane -- or any other gear that needs 5V at no more than 3A..
Note that I'm still experimenting with the Sony PJ760VE camera so the footage and audio aren't that good.
