This 600TVL FPV camera seems to work pretty much identically to the standard HS1177 version. It's worth noting that I was using a cheap 250mW 5.8GHz video transmitter on the DL180 to get the aerial footage and I think that may have had some incompatibility with my LCD/DVR which caused the tearing at the top of the image. Note also that this DVR has a pretty poor resolution and low datarate -- hence the pixelation.
One thing I forgot to do was lock the white-balance, hence the noticeable changes in color temperature and saturation throughout the flight.
Here's the bottom line:
Hits:
- lightweight and compact
- WDR and all the other benefits of the 600TVL cameras
- well suited to these little 180-sized miniquads
- good voltage range (5V to 22V)
- very good OSD cable setup makes it easy to set the camera up in the model using your goggles.
Misses:
- I had to fit heatshrink over the barrel of the camera before it would fit the ring-grip snugly
- mine had a faulty video cable out of the box
- this camera is pretty long - would be nice if it was shorter.
