Travel video about destination Chobe River in Zambia.
The Chobe River is one of the most important tributaries of the Zambesi that flows into the famous Victoria Falls. The source of the fifteen hundred kilometre long river is situated in the highlands of Angola. The river is named according to the language of the local inhabitants that live along its course. Also known as the Cuando or Linyanti it also acts as a natural frontier for the four neighbouring countries of Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The landscape close to the Chobe River is an excellent habitat for the White Tailed Eagle and the African Sea Eagle. The river continuously alters its course and character. Sometimes it looks like a swamp or becomes so wide that it takes on the appearance of a small lake. Just before nightfall when much of Africa’s wildlife becomes active, the sky is a colourful natural spectacle and a truly inspiring sight. The sun slowly sinks like a shining red ball of fire to the horizon and the remarkable landscape of the Chobe River becomes even more beautiful.
