The sight of the magnificent rock formations of Bryce Canyon to the southwest of Utah in the United States is a truly breathtaking experience.Those who first set foot in the canyon such as the Mormon, Ebenezer Bryce, were overwhelmed by the vast canyon and its bizarre scenery. With a degree of understatement and struck by the awesome dimensions of the canyon Bryce declared that it was, “A hell of a place to lose a cow!” Bryce is one of the greatest natural wonders in the United States as well as being one of the most popular tourist attractions in the State of Utah. Strictly speaking Bryce is not really a canyon as its fourteen huge natural amphitheatres were not created by the flow of a mighty river but were originally part of a single plateau that broke apart. It is not surprising that over the years Bryce Canyon has attracted a great deal of interest from those interested in geology and nature and indeed those keen to experience all the breathtaking splendour of one of the world’s most spectacular locations.
