Since signing to Hospital Records in October 2012, Metrik finally arrives with his long-awaited debut album ‘Universal Language’, and believe us, it does not disappoint. Having already built a reputation as one of the hottest stars in d'n'b, he delivers an eclectic blend of anthemic and euphoric tracks to showcase his musically expansive sound.
Metrik demonstrates his uncompromising quality control by collaborating with high profile vocalists and producers. His chart topping debut single 'Want My Love' (Mixmag's 'Single Of The Month') features vocals from Elisabeth Troy of MJ Cole fame, who, fresh from touring with Clean Bandit brings an iconic, gorgeously soulful component to the table. Metrik reunites with vocalist Jan Burton for his second single ‘Human Again’ offering an infectious slice of summer d'n'b receiving heavy rotation across the festival circuit. Switching styles, we welcome the weighty lyrics from London based hip-hop artist Kyza as well as a collaboration with Australian bass music star ShockOne, adding their unique flavour to this sonically diverse body of work.
Performing at key events across the globe including Glastonbury, Global Gathering and Hospitality Brixton Academy, those fortunate to catch his energetic DJ sets have had a taste of the fire he has brought to this LP. Already a firm favourite of many A-list and radio DJ's alike, this album solidifies Metrik as one of the top tier artists in d'n'b and beyond.
