Kate Thomas from the Expedia Viewfinder travel blog shares what it's like to experience afternoon tea in London. She enjoyed a budget afternoon tea at Bea's of Bloomsbury. The cultural tradition began in the 1800s and it was a way for the upper class to stave off hunger pains between breakfast and dinner. Every afternoon tea is unique, but they all follow a general template. It includes three tiers of goodness. The first is full of savory sandwiches. The top two tiers have sweets like cupcakes, scones, lemon squares and raspberry marshmallows.
