MONSTER REASLiSM! I am eager to get outside and get some crazy shots of this engine in action! It's a great day to enjoy the bright sun & clear sky - testing the new DDW V8 I just installed into my Axial RR10 Bomber. The Axial Bomber is an Electric Radio Control Truck I that I am running on a high output 11.1v 3s Lipo Battery. The 3D Printed Engine is only an "accessory" to a model that is already powered by a hidden brushless motor and electronic speed control. The 3D Printed engine was created by "DarkDragonWing" (a creator on YouTube), and is fitted with a servo operated blower, and electric motor spool & belt system. It is all controlled by the throttle input of my radio control transmitter. I have recently released a video installing this 1/10th scale accessory into my buggy. Here is a link:
In this film, I wanted to get a variety of different clips of video, to really enhance what the entire truck is doing, and how it reacts to different terrain. The Engine Revving is TRULY the sound it is making! No extra sound box is needed when I am using an onboard camera. As mentioned in the film, I am using a GoPro Session camera, and it has a pretty good microphone on it. It captures the engine sound well.
Overall, I think this engine addition really is a neat addition to anyone who is truly into "scale accessories" for their trucks, boats, and what ever else you want a "plug and play" engine for. I found my engine on ebay, and if you search for DarkDragonWing - you will find them there - if available. I put this thing through quite a bit of abuse and it held up pretty well. At the end of this film, I had only lost the bottom belt, which had come loose somewhere along the ride. This is not a sponsored video, just some great feedback on a cool product. Guys, thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed todays video. I covered quite a bit in this short 5 minutes.. but WOW, this is really cool!

The original engine, appears to be based off of a Traditional street blown 540 cubic inch Arias Head Chevy version with 8-71 blower. Reference Site at /
Some Readers/Viewers may look at this engine as a Hemi Head - but the below reference makes me think otherwise.
Some site Info:
"Nick Arias, Jr. introduced his radical new 3-pushrod hemispherical-head conversion for big block Chevys way back in 1972. Intended to bring the Chevy V8 on par with the Chrysler Hemi in Top Fuel Eliminator, it never quite achieved that goal, but it quickly became a roaring success in drag boats, tractor pulling and various other drag racing classes. These early versions all used the Chrysler style oiling system. Arias subsequently introduced a follow-on Top Fuel version in 1975 called the “10-Liter.” This was a clean sheet design with greater displacement and the camshaft raised 5-inches to provide clearance for very long strokes and to reduce valve train harmonics with shorter stiffer pushrods. It also featured shallower combustion chambers and valve train geometry similar to the Chrysler Hemi.
** NOTE: In 2004 the heads were again revised and changed to the current two-pushrod configuration with simplified valve train geometry and Chevy style oiling through the pushrods like a standard big block. For street rodders the appeal is obviously the visual charm of the massive hemi-head valve covers conveying a larger than life “bad boy” image. The Arias heads are powerful performers capable of meeting a variety of performance needs from drag racing to hot street rods and marine applications.
Fuel Injected version features Arias injector manifold controlled by a F.A.S.T. engine management system. 540 cubic inch injected motor delivers 800-plus HP on pump gas."
