Review: Quanum i8 RC system

Video Channel
Please help us to find bad videos. Broken or unappropriated video content?
If you are looking for a general-purpose 8-channel radio control system for your RC plane or helicopter, this probably isn't the best choice. However, if you are using the APM flight controller (or a variant, such as the HK Pilot) then this radio could be a great low-cost option, especially thanks to that 6-position switch that can control the "mode" of the flight controller.
Build quality is "okay" -- although I'm not to impressed with the RF module hanging in the breeze.
Pros:
- low cost
- 6 position rotary switch
- two analog sliders
- very simple operation
- receiver has simultaneous PWM and (C)PPM outputs
- good use of the 2.4GHz band
- available in black or white
Cons:
- no range-test facility
- no telemetry
- transmitter battery is bespoke
- where do you get extra receivers?
- no model-memories or other computer-radio features
