In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew unboxes and assembles the X PlusOne from xCraft. This distinctive platform combines elements of a multirotor drone and a fixed-wing aircraft, allowing it to take off and land vertically, as well as pitching over and taking advantage of aerodynamic lift. The X PlusOne arrives in Almost-Ready-to-Fly (ARF) configuration. All of the components necessary to fly the model, including a control radio, a lithium-polymer battery and a battery charger are included in the kit. However, the aircraft must be assembled before flight. The first step is to mount the winglets, called pylons, on the main wing. Next, mount the propellers on each of the four motors, using an adapter to ensure a snug fit between the propeller and the motor shaft. Finally, mount the nose cone or the included GoPro camera mount. Tools, as well as various nuts, bolts and washers are provided to complete the project.
