Please help us to find bad videos. Broken or unappropriated video content?
Both of these 5.8GHz FPV antennas for RC planes or multirotors are great but they each have strengths and weaknesses. In this video I do a head-to-head shootout and look at things such as gain, axial ratio, radiation patterns and a whole lot of other techno-bable.
In summary:
The Pagoda has more gain but pays for it with larger nulls when end-on. It also has a very good axial ratio which means it rejects the reflected signals which cause multipathing very well. On the downside you might have to provide some kind of protection against physical damage and some of these shells may detune the antenna somewhat.
The TBS Triumph has less gain but if you don't need the extra range that such gain offers you will get fewer signal losses due to model orientation because the null-points off the ends of the antenna are smaller. The TBS Triumph is also one super-tough antenna which is another point in its favor if you're flying miniquads.
Bottom line: Get both! :-)
