This is our FiRST TiME driving the new Gen 2 Traxxas XMaxx's and the ground is covered in snow and ice. What a mega truck this beast is. Taking a 30v power source, the truck rips across the race track like its on ice skates leaving only long ice holes where the tires had chewed through the ground during launch time. We would love to get some high speed runs for you, but the weight of the snow in the trucks, and the lack of traction during the winter makes this task impossible - but we sure did have fun trying! High Flying jumps, Speed on iCE, Sharp, drifting corners and Powder spews high into the sky!
We had PLENTY of battery left after our run times - we only wore them down about 45% after taking turns driving for about 30 minutes. It is difficult to tell if there was any heat build up on the motor - as we were in -15c weather (Quite cold), but were were pulling HUGE AMPS when the trucks are weighed down. We estimate the trucks were close to 50lbs when all the snow kept melting and freezing inside the truck, laying the weight on. For these trucks to pull the power they were, with the weight on them - the motor and esc were working hard - but we both had power until we were done - and had to warm up!
Traxxas did send these trucks to us for our overview, and use - AND USE THEM WE SHALL! They also sent along 6700mah 4s Lipos for us to power these trucks with. For more information about these trucks, see below:

"At the end of the day, size always wins. X-Maxx plows over obstacles and muscles through extreme terrain that leaves lesser trucks stranded. Mammoth 8-inch tall tires, long-arm suspension, and huge ground clearance dwarf the surroundings for virtually unstoppable monster truck fun.
At Traxxas, too much power is never enough! The durability of the new VXL-8s is matched only by the sheer ferocity of its 8s 30+ volt dual LiPo muscle. The speed-tuned 1200XL Big Block™ motor propels X-Maxx with brutal authority and exacting quickness that warps your senses. No matter what you have driven in the past, nothing will prepare you for X-Maxx.
X-Maxx puts the power to the ground through tough all-steel drivetrain gears, the revolutionary Cush Drive system, and our strongest driveshafts ever. The all-new Torque-Biasing Center Drive improves driveline durability and drives larger module ring and pinion gears on the toughest differentials we have ever produced."
This entire truck is modular in design - and can be worked on efficiently and quickly. Some jobs are definitely tough, but most are not! Thats the beauty of breaking this truck.. you can always just replace a "section"
More to come on this amazing truck in the coming days!
