In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew hears from Natalie Cheng, the Director of Communications at Autel Robotics about the company's announcements at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The first is that Autel is launching two new camera modules for its X-Star drone. In the first quarter of 2017, it will introduce a thermal imaging system built around the new FLIR Duo. Then, in the second quarter of 2017, the company will release a camera gimbal with a one-inch sensor, providing for better low light performance, shallow depth of field shots and 20 megapixel still images. Autel also announced the release of its Software Development Kit (SDK) to select partners in the first quarter, and expanding to other users throughout the year. Finally, Autel's VTOL Kestrel will begin flying for alpha customers in 2017, in order to test aircraft performance with different missions and payloads. Finally, Autel revealed a conceptual design for a new quadcopter with retractable landing gear – allowing for a 360-degree field of view from the on board camera, as well as a new folding remote control with a built-in screen.
