The Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Geo-3 satellite was launched aboard the United Launch Alliance (ULA) rocket from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on January 20, 2017. The US Air Force satellite will provide “missile warning, missile defense, technical intelligence and battlespace awareness,” according to ULA. -- Full Story:
