The Taiwanese manufacturer MST has up the ante with two new RC crawlers. The new CFX platform will come in 1/10 scale and 1/8 scale. So in this video you see what you will receive in the box and also a quick time lap of Sunnix building the kit. He also mentions a few hints and tips that might help you along the way when you build yours. To help you decide what size class rig this fits into we have compared it to the Axial SCX10 II. At the end of the video you also see us putting a Team Raffee Co D90 Defender body onto the 1/10 MST CFX. This is just to show you that with a bit of modifying you can get the D90 body and chassis to fit together. The best thing I like about it is the way the gearbox sits in the perfect place of the body’s fire wall and transmission tunnel. Stay tuned in some future blogs and videos where we will be doing this custom build with the 1/10 MST CFX chassis and the Team Raffee Co D90 Defender body.
The new MPA-Axle looks quite similar to the G-Made R1 Axles. The adjustable wheelbase is a nice touch. Tires on the 1/10 CFX are similar to the CMX chassis which aren't the softest tires in the market, but have good traction.
New tires for the 1/8 CFX-W seem more performance based. Front motor with transfer case, axle mounted servo, adjustable chassis, all around aluminum links. These are similar features to the SCX10 and SCX10 II. The front motor is scale, but sits quite high. The battery will need to be relocated to the front for any serious crawling.
