LotusRC T700G Hexacopter for Compact DSLR Cameras
LotusRC T700G hexacopter is a great and very affordable all in one solution for aerial filming with Compact DSLR cameras like Sony NEX5 or Panasonic GH1 type of cameras, also called mirrorless cameras. Full Carbon Fiber and metal constructed folding frame, neatly packed in an easy to carry and store Aluminum carrying case that house all the other stuff like Radios, Batteries and FPV Systems, plus you can also turn it into all in one carrying and Ground control station box easily.
With a 4S 10000mAh battery the T700G offers a sweet 25+ minutes of flight time and with onboard brushless gimbal and compact DSLR cameras it will still surprise you with great flight endurance. Now equipped with new FC that offers GPS position hold, Altitude and attitude hold and Auto Return to home and land features to make sure you do not lose your machine, should the control signal is lost of video feed is lost while flying and aerial filming. Also with addition of data radios you can fly full autonomous and get full flight data telemetry on Ground control station software that uses Google earth maps.
In this video we unboxed and set the hexacopter right there on the field to show how easy the setup was. Then we flight tested the hexacopter for a while. It was actually surprisingly good and offered a solid GPS position. Whats more, auto retracting landing gear means, you shoot clear footage without any obstacles in the view of your camera. No matter if you use 3 axis gimbal.
We will be posting Video Shots by Sony NEX5R camera at later stages to show you the results. I believe so far that the T700G is really a neat and very affordable system in its price category.
