Bixler2 build review and initial impressions

I have been flying FPV using Quads and recently made myself a flying wing. I've wanted a slow, graceful FPV plane and after much soul searching ordered this Bixler2 from HobbyKing.
The plane arrived and looks great but a few things needed to be sorted so I thought that I'd document them while they are all still fresh in my memory.
I will make another video that shows how I created a three position flap mix on my DX7 for those of you that are interested, but first my thoughts on the plane ..
The good things:
- Comes with all the parts you need, the Y cable for the ailerons, push rods even the glue
- Easy to assemble, simple to figure out, even if you don't watch the video/read the manual
- Nice FPV platform allows a fast change-out from canopy to FPV pod in the field
- Lots of spare parts!
Now the not so good:
- The servo leads are simply not long enough - you need to order extensions (4 ideally)
- The flap servos are installed into the wing the same way as the aileron servos meaning you need a servo reverser or a computer radio with a custom mix to use them. This is simply poor design.
- The connectors onto the horns all need a clevis but they don't come in the pack (you can make them easily from fuel tubing)
- The motor and prop don't look amazing and the motor seem overly noisy
In summary, this is a lot of plane for the money but a few things that should have been done that stop it from being a perfect model.
Waiting for the next flying day to chase my friends in the sky and get some great 'chase' video.
Thanks for watching please comment and subscribe.
Happy Flying!
