This inexpensive little drone has one of the most unusual designs that I've seen to date, even for a tricopter. Find it here Also available here on Amazon
Pros
- This little drone has a very unusual tricopter design with two opposing motors in the front. When forward flight is desired, the top front motor spins faster and the opposing bottom motor spins slower to pitch the quadcopter forward. The process is reversed for backward flight.
- Very stable flier. Should be good for beginners.
- Range advertised at 30 meters. But I easily flew it out to 100 meters (GOAAALLLLLL!!!!!!).
- The propellers are very well protected with prop guards. The front opposing propellers are encased in a protective ball cage.
- Well lit, should be a good night flier.
- Has an on/off switch.
- Uses widely available, cheap, generic 350 to 380mah white Losi LiPo batteries. Finding spare batteries should be very easy.
- Controller includes a charging port to allow charging the quadcopter's batteries in the field using the controller's AA batteries for power.
- Small and lightweight, does not require FAA registration.
Cons
- Only available in Mode 2.
- Does not have headless mode or one key return.
