I saw this copter over at GearBest, and I thought it would finally be a good idea to get a quick to deploy, good looking copter (no visible ESCs, or hanging wires and LiPo alarms!!!) for family outings and good all around flying. The price was more than reasonable too for what it offered!
Out of the box the Tovsto Aegean v2 was a very good piece of drone. No additional calibrations were needed, you just have to remember to turn on the controller before the copter, and to switch it off after the copter. So literally, out of the box you charge the battery, turn everything on, wait for GPS lock and off you go! Its that easy, and the drone actually does perform all its functions quite well and is light enough for me to carry around in its box.
It uses 3S 2200mAh LiPo batteries, and those are pretty cheap now, you buy enough batteries to give you a total combined flight time of 2 hours for under 120 USD, and will certainly be the envy of some of the DJI Phantom owners! :)
The Aegean v2 did have some vibration issues, but those were easily sorted through prop balancing and a 2-axis GoPro brushless gimbal, and honestly why would anyone want to fly without a gimbal anyway!?
Overall a very nice drone if you are on a budget or just don't want to spend a lot, and with little work and some additional gear it becomes even better! :)
