Two 2300KV mini quadcopter motors from HobbyKing are put to the test. The Multistar Elite versus the Quanum MT2204.
Figures obtained during the testing:
Multistar Elite 2204/2300KV:
- hover power with GF5030 prop: 34 Watts
- hover power with GF5040 prop: 34 Watts
- max power with GF5030 prop: 91 Watts, 340g thrust
- max power with GF5040 prop: 120 Watts, 380g thrust
Quanum MT2204
- hover power with GF5030 prop: 36 Watts
- hover power with GF5040 prop: 35 Watts
- max power with GF5030 prop: 96 Watts, 332g thrust
- max power with GF5040 prop: 121 Watts, 390g thrust
Summary:
Both motors seem pretty good value and perform almost identically with the usual 5x3 and 5x4 props. The fact that the C-clip spins on the motor shaft could result in premature wear of the groove and the clip on the MultiStar motor.
Both motors were purchased from HobbyKing:
Quanum MT2204/2300KV
MultiStar Elite 2204/2300KV (4-motor set):
