Today Ricky from Boom Racing goes through the new Boom Racing PYTHON™ BLACK BR-45WP Direct Compact Axle Mounted Servo. Part #BRT10043. The servo has a radical new design, with the "ears" cut off for a smaller footprint for much more clearance on the sides. It features a stealthy matte black aluminum case to camouflage it above the axle.
We mounted the servo on several popular axles and cars for demo. Feel free to leave a comment below and let us know what you think. We hope you like it!

How the PYTHON BLACK Servo project started
From Jason Patrick Tsang, our company CEO.
In life, timing is everything. It's time for something totally new - and I mean never been done before new. We've been contemplating to release a servo for a long while now, but the right opportunity didn't come, and we left it at that.
When the BRX70 narrow axles came out last year, my friend Bert Manansala aka Kronik got excited and decided to build a scale Toyota LC70 truck with these new axles at the time. He was thinking about performance first and foremost, so he wanted to mount the servo on the axle, with more direct steering and less bump steer. Once completed, he snapped a clear photo of the truck and asked me if I could tell whether the truck is CMS or AMS setup. Not seeing any signs of a servo on axle, I said it was a CMS.
Kronik cleverly painted the servo all black, and with some tidying up, the servo couldn't be easily noticed. Something dawned on me that day - that everything out there that people say how things are done or should be, isn't necessarily always true. With a bit of imagination and a dare-devil mentality, we all can create innovative and practical designs.
Because of the superior performance capability and the versatility of the BRX01, we challenged ourselves to fit a servo onto the axle, in order to run AMS setup. But we couldn't and hit a dead end with the chassis design work. The narrowness of the chassis rails restraint any standard sized servo on the axle. Those of you who have a BRX01 will surely understand what I mean. We were about to give up on that idea. But you know what they say - when one door closes, another opens. The opportunity finally came to produce our very own servo.
So we went all-in and put everything we learned into the servo. We cut the "ears" off from the servo, reducing 25% total length. The mount is moved to the bottom, so that the servo can mount directly onto the axle. We made the servo completely stealth by going with a matte black color. The label and specs on the servo are all laser etched to keep the all-black appearance. It is high voltage, can take up to 8.4V, IP67 fully waterproofed, has full ball bearings and full metal gears.
The PYTHON BLACK servo came out just the way we liked - compact, strong and stealthy.
