With both wheels firmly attached this time, Paul took his Hangar 9 30cc DHC-2 Beaver up for a little more sky time. Paul liked this plane more with each passing minute. (And so did the rest of us).
He managed a couple of nice flights and in this video you will see one perfect landing and just had to tack on a perfect deadstick recovery after his engine stalled while inverted on the second flight. Nice flying Paul!
The engine is an EME 35 with the electric start option powered by a 7.4 volt lipo. The lipo also powers the light kit and ignition system through an electronic kill switch. The prop for this flight was a 16x10 Morpower Adjustable Pitch 3 blade prop but he was lacking power so he either has to dial in a bit less pitch or go back to the Falcon 20x8 two blade prop he used in the maiden. You may notice that he changed it back to the two blade prop for the second flight.

The receiver is a Futaba 7008 sbus 2 with an expansion hub. Servos are all Futaba digitalis with the exception of the throttle/choke servos which are JR MC35.
For power, there is a pair of Li-Fe 2s2p 1700mah batteries running 6.6v through a dual redundant switch. Paul thinks he could probably fly all weekend without a recharge on that set-up LOL.
The pilot is a Civilian Pilot from Warbirdpilots.com. Paul named him "Beaver Bob" after a local Coastal Air pilot who actually goes by that call sign.

Lights are high power 3.3v Cree LED's on heat sinks individually wired to a Hobby King lighting controller. Paul plans to upgrade the controller to a programmable unit so that he can create his own light patterns for flight/landing/takeoff, etc.
There are two LED's on each wingtip - 1 strobe and 1 color, 2 landing lights on the wings, one strobe on the rear and one red beacon on the top.

Please bear with me as I try to find out how to get the video quality back to where it should be. I hope that I’m getting closer to finding out what’s causing the problem. The next thing to check is the expensive SD card that I’ve used for the past few videos. I’ll be trying an older, proven SD card to see if that helps. Maybe my tired old PC is on the way out!
Many thanks for watching!
