The Hubsan Zino has been upgraded to allow much longer range for FPV flights of up to 4 kilometers. Other improvements include ND filter capability, and improved control gimbals. Lets take it for a test flight. Find it here And here is an unedited demonstration of its 4K video
Pros
- Three axis stabilized gimbal.
- 4K video camera resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30fps. Camera also includes optional ND filter capability.
- FPV video is viewed on your smartphone without need of WiFi. Instead your phone can be connected directly to the controller and drone via OTG cables.
- 3S 3000mah battery provides about 18 minutes flight time.
- Control and FPV video range of up to 4 Km.
- Advanced camera and flight mode control is available via the X-Hubsan app. Some features available through the app include Waypoints, Orbit, Optical Follow Me, Creative Video, and Line Fly. Photography parameters that can be modified include ISO, Exposure, Saturation, Contrast, and Sharpness. Video parameters that can be modified include Resolution, Frame Rate, White Balance, Color, and Video Format.
Cons
- Although capable of much longer FPV and control range than the original Zino, it is not a good idea to try to reach 4Km. The demonstrated flight time of the provided battery is about 18 minutes, and is likely not to be sufficient to return.
- The drone has automatic visual apron landing capability. However, in multiple tries I was not able to get the drone to land on the apron with this feature activated. It always seems to lose the apron just before landing.
- Promised features of panorama still photography and creative video have not yet been implemented in the X-Hubsan app.
- Optional ND filters are also not yet available.
