More than 3,000 stalls are roughly grouped into products of different kinds, mostly clothing but also food, hardware, shoes, bags, jewelry, lacquerware, ceramics, souvenirs, and much more. Yes it is a little bit more touristic than a true local market, but because it's touristic, the friendly sales clerks here in the market speak a little bit of English, which is a real advantage for the visitor.
Of course you must bargain, so you want to do some price comparison -- one stall might sell T-shirts for $5 and another could be selling them for $2. Nearly all the clothing is manufactured in Vietnam so you know you're getting a good deal.
Everything in this market is negotiable you don't want to pay the list price. Get them down at least 20% may be 30, 40% or more if you're buying in volume, and they don't mind if you are offering a lowball offer, that's okay, it's all part of the game here, part of the sport.
