Traveling by train through the Swiss Alps makes the perfect way to arrive in Lucerne, one of the prettiest towns in Europe. We walk through town then enjoy a busy day starting with breakfast at our Hotel des Balances, a day-trip by train to Titlis, a glacier-covered peak high in the mountains, then wrap it up with dinner at the Old Swiss House, enjoying their specialty of wiener schnitzel, cooked at the table. Next day we leave town, heading to Paris by train.
