Kyle does it low and slow. This is smooth, precise flying at its best. Even gray, overcast skies couldn't spoil this flight.
The audio track is messed up.
Short explanation:
I had to deal with the very loud music that was playing right behind me as I filmed this flight.
Long explanation:
I'm told that loud music is a tradition at Huckfest events. Sweet! It's probably just me but I didn't miss it a bit on some of the earlier flights that had no music (like the last few flights I uploaded from this event). For this video, the sound system was tuned to a local radio station and was turned up very loud. There were a few preschoolers who were digging it and I suppose when you are there watching the flight live and in person, it can add something to the overall experience. Not so much as it applies to YouTube videos unfortunately.
From where I was standing to shoot the video, I caught the full effect of the music on my microphone. My mistake!
I usually enjoy listening to the plane's engine during a flight and when I sat down to edit this video you couldn't hear the engine because of the music most of the time. I guess that's not a bad thing at times, in the spirit of things and all that, but unfortunately, YouTube would have had to pull this video for copyright issues if I had left the audio track as it was. Todays screwed up copyright laws are so strict that even music playing in the background is not permitted without the permission of the record label (Don't get me started!) Sometimes you can get away with it because other noises in the video confuse the music but on this one, there was no doubt. Two, perfectly clear songs.
I had a few no-win choices;
I could upload the video with the original sound and wait for a few minutes or hours before YouTube would mute it or take it down because of copyright violations. (Been there, done that, got the t-shirt)
I could mute the original sound and put on my own (royalty free) music but then I would have received hate mail for not letting you hear the engine.
Or, I could do what I did and mess with the audio so that the music is buried under other noise. I have an awesome microphone that can pick up Kyle's engine noise clear across the valley but the music overpowered the sound of his engine. So, I added some engine noise from another flight (that had no music) and turned down the volume on most of the original audio (music).
This is a long, crappy way of asking you to just go with it and enjoy the flight. Kyle's flight was too nice to get deleted because of the music issue.
