/ Continuing a visit to Carcassonne, France, we explore more of the Old Town and walk down to the New Town, or Bastide, finding the open-air veggie market and pedestrian shopping lanes. Carcassonne is a medieval fortified village, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with a castle in the middle and walls around it. We get the perfect view from below in the evening, and leave the next morning to continue our journey through the south of France.
