ImmersionRC Rapidfire Fatshark Transformer Review - myopinion of the ImmersionRC Rapidfire is mixed. when the ImmersionRC Rapidfire performs, it performs well. when the ImmersionRC Rapidfire fails, it fails only slightly. the ImmersionRC Rapidfire didnt seem to block multipath problems, not that i could tell.
i tried to get down to the lowest common denominator by using Dipole antennas, just to test out worst case scenario. As for the Foxeer lollipop V2, i thought for the most part, they performed quite well.
there is no magic bullet here, there are so many extenuating circumstances to get these to work the way the ImmersionRC designed them. VTX Antenna placement, Type of VTX, Number of other pilots, camera type and number of pilots. to get the ImmersionRC Rapidfire to work as designed, you must use the right antenna in the right position on your aircraft so you are always getting good input. As far as camera goes, i flew both NTSC and PAL cameras. some at 30 fps, others at 50 fps, and 60 fps. all in all the ImmersionRC Rapidfire will work if the conditions are planned out.
Not ‘just’ a diversity module, but a module that has intimate knowledge of analog video signals. A module that can repair the damage caused as the 5.8GHz analog signal bounces around the environment.
The rapidFIRE module fuses images together, predicts noise before it is visible, rebuilds analog signals to avoid tearing, rolling, and dropped DVR frames, all with zero added latency.
This is more than Analog, but not Digital, so we called it ‘Analog Plus’.
The module senses supply voltage and automatically adapts to headsets which cannot supply enough power through the module bay.
For Attitudes, and the Dominator HDO, the bay provides enough power for the module, and is truly plug-and-play.
For other goggles, an included aux-power PCB, with a 0.2mm self-adhesive flat cable provides the necessary power and is hidden using an included sticker-set.
For the adventurous, a simple, well documented modification to the goggles avoids the need for the cable.

Fat Shark’s Transformer SE bundle is the ultimate kit for ready-to-fly drone racers in search of an all-in-one, ultra-immersive, FPV experience. Including an updated, 720p HD panel with a built-in diversity receiver; two antennas; a binocular viewer and a battery, the bundle comes with everything needed to pick up an FPV feed.
New in the Special Edition configuration, the included 720p panel can now take analog and digital feeds, while the built-in, 32-channel diversity receiver has been reconfigured to cut down on multipath interference. The Transformer SE monitor can additionally be decoupled from the headset to act as a standalone ground station.
